SX Lab is a polyphonic browser synthesizer built by game audio veteran Ted Kocher, powered by the SOMA synthesis engine. It runs a dual-oscillator engine through a resonant filter, amp envelope, LFO, chorus, reverb, and ping-pong delay — all controllable via keyboard, mouse, or any Web MIDI device with zero latency overhead. The isomorphic hex keyboard places every chromatic note in a two-row honeycomb layout with no black-and-white distinction, making chord shapes physically consistent across all keys. Scale-lock dims out-of-key hexagons for modal exploration without wrong notes. Eight spectral presets — Drone, Nova, Drift, Sub, Pluck, Cosmos, Rhodes, Glitch — load instantly from the preset bar. SX Lab is part of the X Labs family (the X is silent). No account required. No download. Runs entirely in the browser via Tone.js.
